BILLING & FEES

The Earp Law Firm, P.C. charges an hourly fee for most of our services. Certain matters are also taken on a Contingent Fee basis and a Flat Fee basis when appropriate.

When billed hourly, Clients are billed in increments of one-tenth of an hour (six minutes) with a minimum of one-tenth of an hour on any task or service including phone calls. Clients are responsible for the payment of all costs of representation, including filing fees, court costs, process server fees, court reporter fees, copies, postage and other costs and fees incurred on their behalf. Trust deposits are often required in cases which will be billed on an hourly basis. A trust deposit is an advance deposit towards legal fees that a client must make in order to hire our firm to provide legal services for you. The trust deposit may not be the entire fee, and is not a flat fee. Generally, some portion of the trust deposit is non-refundable as compensation to the firm for having to turn away other work to take a Client’s matter.

Detailed billing statements are kept each month showing all services performed for a client and the fee for said services. Those statements may or may not be mailed to a client depending on the client’s fee agreement with the firm.

Fee arrangements are flexible in our firm. We respect the fact that many clients do not have easy access to funds and may require trade-outs, payment plans and contingent fees. The best manner by which to determine a fee for a particular case is to call and make an appointment with our office to discuss your case at 940.872.8500.
